Description

This helmeted bird monster from Hieronymos Bosch's painting, Garden of Earthly Delights, is carrying a pencil box and an ink pot in its beak. A severed foot is swinging from the bird''s helmet referring to the horrible corporal punishments which could be expected in hell. The surrounding cast from the painting are a nun decaying into a pig. The pig, indeed an indictment against the decay of clergy life, is tempting the man who is sitting beside him and it appears that he is drawing up a contract. Is the man possibly selling his soul? Bosch figurine is part of the Parastone Museum Collection of more than fifteen statues from Bosch''s painted. Helmeted Bird Statue is made from resin with color details and measures 3.25in x 4.75in x 2.5in.
